Kahalu'u in Kahaluu-Keauhou, HI is a reef break, best suited for beginner surfers. Current conditions: 1.4 ft waves, wnw 6 mph (onshore), rising → high. Small for this break but conditions look fun — 1.4 ft with manageable wind. Kahaluʻu Beach Park south of Kailua-Kona is a small bay protected by a man-made breakwater that creates calm water for snorkeling and swimming. Stay on the inside peak if you're a beginner and let the larger sets roll through; keep your knees bent and watch for other learners.
