About This Spot
Sunset Bay is a crescent-shaped cove near Cape Arago with tide pools and a campground. It's popular with surfers when large winter swells create rolling pipes of ocean. On smaller days it's sheltered and calm, suitable for intermediates.
Local Etiquette
Stay off the cliffs and respect the marine life. Pack out trash and keep noise down at the campground.
