Calafia current conditions and local guidance
Calafia in Popotla, Baja California is a point break, suited for advanced surfers. Current conditions: 2.7 ft waves, w 11 mph (cross-shore), rising → high. Size is there, but cross-shore wind affects quality. Calafia is the right-hand point below the Calafia hotel and restaurant on the cliffs south of Rosarito, and for many surfers it is the first stop on the drive down the free road. Summer south and southwest swells are the main season. Mid to high tide is usually the best window; time your paddle-out between sets to avoid the rocks at the entry. Usually uncrowded. Best on a south or southwest swell at mid to high tide.
