Conditions not favorable for surfing.
Solimar Reef is a reef break in Ventura, CA suited for intermediate surfers. It picks up swells from S to WNW (190°-300°). Best surfed at 1.5-4ft on a rising tide. Hazards include rocks, shallow reef, localism. Prime season runs January, February, March, October, November, and December. Expect moderate crowds. Offshore winds come from NE (45°). Solimar offers a trio of options: a quick, ledgy reef peak called Solimar Reef, a mellower point that peels left over cobblestones, and a beachbreak that handles wind swell. The reef is punchy and suited to intermediate surfers comfortable with rocks. Mid tide, light NE wind, 3-6 ft W-SW swell For the reef peak, line up with the telephone pole; for the point break, wait for medium-sized sets and trim down the cobblestone point.
Keep a low profile and share waves with locals; respect the rotation.
