Conditions not favorable for surfing.
Emma Wood is a reef break in Ventura, CA suited for upper-intermediate surfers. It picks up swells from S to WNW (190°-300°). Best surfed at 1-4ft on a rising tide. Hazards include rip currents, shallow reef, rocks, strong currents. Prime season runs January, February, March, October, November, and December. Expect moderate crowds. Offshore winds come from NE (45°). A mix of reef and sand peaks with a punchy take-off that mellows into long walls when the reef section lights up. The spot catches most swells and can produce long right and left walls around the offshore reef. Low-mid tide, light NE wind, 4-8 ft W-SW swell Position yourself just inside of the reef for the longest walls; on big swells the outside reef offers heavy drops.
Wait your turn and don't back-paddle; only experienced surfers should challenge the outside reef.
