Good swell, but tide is dropping through the window.
The Redondo Breakwall is a regional classic that breaks along the King Harbor breakwater. When it's big and working, it produces a fast, walled left over a sandy bottom. This spot is reserved for advanced surfers, as strong currents and powerful waves make it hazardous. It comes alive on large north and west swells and is usually surfed during winter.
Only experienced surfers should paddle out; respect the locals and the harbor rules.
Insider tips from local surfers
Sit deep near the breakwall to catch the long lefts that run down the wall. Use a step-up board to handle the power.
