D Street fires on a solid west-northwest swell in the 3-6 foot range with east or northeast winds holding the faces open. A medium to high incoming tide keeps the inside from getting too ledgy and dangerous. The spot handles south swell surprisingly well for a west-facing beach, picking up angular swell energy in summer.
