La Ocho Current Conditions Summary
La Ocho in San Juan, PR is a reef break, best suited for beginner surfers. Current conditions: 1.3 ft waves, e 15 mph (cross-shore), falling → low tide. Small for this break but conditions look fun — 1.3 ft with manageable wind. La Ocho sits by Escambron just east of Old San Juan and gives the capital a real longboard reef option. On small days, longboards can pick off rolling reef peaks across the spread-out lineup. When the swell is head high or the reef is drawing shallow, this is no longer a beginner recommendation. Forecasts are updated every 3 hours using ML-corrected NOAA models with live buoy data from CDIP, NDBC, and IOOS stations.
