Belmar is a beach break in Belmar, NJ suited for intermediate surfers. It picks up swells from E to S (90°-180°). Best surfed at 0.5-6ft on a either tide. Hazards include rip currents, crowds, pollution. Prime season runs February, March, August, September, October, and November. Expect crowded crowds. Offshore winds come from WNW (290°). Belmar's 16th Street break is a classic beach break with shifting sandbars and peaks that break both left and right. It suits intermediate surfers and works on any tide with south‑to‑east swells and offshore west winds. All tides, W wind, 3–5 ft SE–S swell On larger swells sit farther outside; look for A‑frame peaks and watch for rip currents near the jetties.
