Boca del Salado is a mix of beach and reef peaks northeast of San José del Cabo. It is an easy trip from the Los Cabos airport area and works best on summer south swell. Urchins, rips and rocks are the main hazards.
Cabo Pulmo is the village and national marine park on the East Cape, protecting one of the few living coral reefs in the Gulf of California. The point here needs a south swell and suits experienced surfers. Treat the reef with care and follow park rules, since the coral is both a hazard and a protected resource.
Punta Arenas is a sand point on the East Cape near Cabo Pulmo. It needs a large south swell to produce waves and is flat much of the time. When it works, it gives short rights over sand.
