Hazards include rip currents, rocks, jetties, sharks. Prime season runs February, March, August, September, October, and November. Expect crowded crowds. Offshore winds come from WSW (240°). Sandy Hook's Cove is a rare New Jersey point break where sandbars and jetties wrap southeast swells into long right‑hand walls. The spot works best on big south swells with west to northwest winds and low tide. Low tide, W–NW wind, 4–8 ft S–SE swell Line up behind the jetty and wait for sets to wrap; the first section can barrel before forming a long wall.
