Best Surf Beaches in Punta Colonet

This San Antonio del Mar is a long, quiet beach west of Colonet, not the one in Tijuana. It is an open beach break with shifting sandbars, dunes and room to camp. The water can be affected by runoff from the nearby estuary after rain.

Cabo Colonet is the large, cliff-lined headland west of Colonet. On the right swell a long right wraps along the cliffs, but it needs real size to break and is dormant most of the time. It is a self-supported trip.

K-181 is named for the Highway 1 kilometer marker near Colonet, where a rough road leads to a remote reef. It needs a decent swell to wake up, and the reef produces boils in the lineup. Few people surf it, which is the main appeal.
