Longboard-friendly breaks in Aguadilla

Break types, wave character, and ideal conditions for mellow log sessions.

Crash Boat
beach
beginner

Crash Boat is a popular Aguadilla family beach with a picturesque pier and a user-friendly beach break. On small north to northwest swells, the sandy peaks are one of the better beginner and longboard options on Puerto Rico's west side. The beach gets busy with swimmers, snorkelers, and boats, so the safe beginner read is small surf, clear flags, and plenty of room away from the pier traffic.

Wave character

Use Crash Boat as a small-day learner and longboard call. Stay away from boat lanes and the pier rip, look for the soft sandbar peaks, and skip it when larger winter swell makes the current stronger.

Best conditions

Best on small north to northwest swell with light south to southeast wind; target mellow knee- to waist-high days for first-timers and longboards.

Surfer's Beach
beach
intermediate

Surfer's Beach sits near Aguadilla's airport and is a reliable surf spot that handles a variety of swell directions. It offers long, rippable rights and occasional lefts over a mix of sand and reef. While more forgiving than nearby Shacks, the jagged shoreline makes entry and exit tricky, and bigger swells demand respect.

Wave character

Sit near the main peak for the longest rights. Lefts can break on the inside at low tide.

Best conditions

Any tide, N–NE swells 3–8 ft, and light NE winds.

Wilderness
point
upper-intermediate

True to its name, Wilderness is a secluded right‑hand point break reached via a dirt road. It produces long rides with carveable walls and occasional barrel sections when a solid NW swell meets SE winds. The rocky shoreline and strong currents make the paddle‑out tricky, so it's best suited to experienced surfers.

Wave character

The takeoff can be steep. Sit deep for the longest rides and watch for the occasional barrel section down the line.

Best conditions

Mid tide, SE winds, and NW swells 4–10 ft.
