Deerfield Beach Pier offers a small, often mushy wave that's popular with locals and tourists. Surfing is only allowed north of the pier, where high‑performance waves break in the hot zone; south of lifeguard tower 7 has softer waves for learners. Hazards include rip currents, pollution, theft and the occasional shark.
Use the boardwalk to reach the north side of the pier. A leash is mandatory and the city enforces surf zones strictly.
Park on the south side of the pier and walk north with your board. Metered parking is available; keep valuables out of sight.
