Mid-tide on the rise is the sweet spot—low tide creates dangerously shallow conditions on the reef, and high tide makes the wave fat and sectiony. Winter is prime time, with the biggest and most consistent swells. Santa Ana wind events create epic conditions with offshore grooming.
