Rideable 5.7 ft surf — keep an eye on conditions.
The Point at Sandy is a point break in Rincón, PR suited for upper-intermediate surfers. It picks up swells from W to N (280°-350°). Best surfed at 0.5-2ft. Hazards include shallow reef, rocks, crowds, strong currents. Prime season runs January, February, March, November, and December. Expect crowded crowds. Offshore winds come from ESE (120°). At the southern end of Sandy Beach lies The Point, a rocky outcrop that produces a long right‑hander. On big NW swells the wave can connect with Maria's, offering rides of several hundred meters. The reefy takeoff zone and speedy wall suit upper‑intermediate surfers and above. Mid tide, SE offshore winds, and solid NW swells. Sit wide on smaller days; when a solid set arrives the wave hugs the point and reels down the line. Patience is key.
Locals surf here regularly—follow their lead and don't paddle around them.
